Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and [company name] (registration no. [registration number], [registered address]), which runs LocalPage (“LocalPage”, “we”). By creating an account you accept them.

1. What LocalPage is

LocalPage is a tool for people who build and sell websites for local businesses (“builders”, “you”). It shows businesses from public map data, checks their websites, builds demo sites, lets you share preview links, and hosts the sites your clients buy from you. The businesses you sell to are your clients, not ours.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract.
  • Keep your sign-in email secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • One person per account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.

3. Free trial

The trial lasts 7 days, needs no card, and includes 3 AI demo builds, unlimited hand edits and demo sharing. Sites cannot go live during the trial. When it ends, nothing is charged; your demos stay in your account.

4. Plans, payment and renewal

  • The Builder plan costs €29 a month or €288 a year (US$29 or US$288 when you pay in US dollars), plus any VAT or sales tax that applies. Prices shown at checkout are the ones you pay.
  • Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • You can cancel any time from your account page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed.
  • We may change prices for future periods. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.

5. Refunds

Because you can use the service immediately and cancel at any time, we do not refund payments for a period that has started, except where the law requires it or we have made a billing mistake. If a demo build fails, its AI credits are returned automatically.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase. When you subscribe, you ask us to start the service straight away and acknowledge that you lose this right once the service has been fully provided; for a partly used period, you may be charged for the part used. To withdraw, write to [contact email] within 14 days of your purchase.

6. AI credits

Plans include AI credits. A demo build uses 10 credits and an AI edit uses 1; hand edits, style changes and publishing never use credits. Unused credits carry over to the next period. Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

7. Your responsibilities when selling

You are the one who contacts businesses and sells to them. You agree to:

  • follow the law that applies to your contact with businesses, including rules on unsolicited messages and data protection (such as the GDPR in the EU). LocalPage never sends messages to businesses for you;
  • make clear that a demo is a preview you made, and not claim to act for the business or for LocalPage;
  • check what a site says before you share it or take it live. LocalPage marks what it could not confirm, but you are responsible for what you publish;
  • take a site live only with the business’s agreement, and remove it when they ask;
  • not add content you have no right to use, or anything unlawful, misleading, hateful or harmful.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use LocalPage to:

  • impersonate a business, collect payments or passwords under false pretences, or phish;
  • publish fake reviews, prices, awards, licences or other invented claims;
  • send spam, or copy the business data in bulk to use outside LocalPage;
  • probe, overload or get around the limits or security of the service, or resell access to it.

We may remove content or suspend a site or account that breaks these terms. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

9. Content and ownership

  • You and your clients own the content you add (text, logos, photos). You give us the permission we need to store, render and host it to provide the service.
  • LocalPage owns the software, templates and designs. You and your clients may use them as part of sites hosted on LocalPage.
  • Stock photos come from their own sources under their own licences, which are credited on each site.
  • Business data comes from Overture Maps and other public sources. It can be wrong or out of date, and we do not guarantee it.

10. Live sites and hosting

Your plan covers hosting for up to 50 live client sites that you bill yourself. Live sites stay online while your plan is active. If a payment fails or your plan ends, sites stay online for a 14-day grace period, then go offline until your plan is active again. We do not delete a site’s content when it goes offline.

11. LocalPage Billing (clients paying through LocalPage)

For any site you can choose LocalPage Billing instead of billing the client yourself. Then:

  • You are the seller. Your client buys the website and hosting from you, your name appears on their receipt, and you are responsible for any VAT or other tax on your sale.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe through a payout account in your name. To use it you accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and give Stripe the identity and bank details it asks for.
  • You set the one-time fee and the monthly price. LocalPage keeps 10% of every client payment as its fee and pays the card processing fees out of that share, so 90% goes to your payout account. Stripe pays it out to your bank on its usual schedule.
  • The site goes online when the client’s first payment succeeds, and stays online while they keep paying. If a payment fails or they cancel, the site stays online until the end of the paid period plus the 14-day grace period, then goes offline.
  • You handle refunds and disputes with your client from your Account page. If a refund or a lost dispute leaves your payout account short, it is recovered from your later payouts.
  • Sites billed this way do not count toward the 50 sites in your plan.

12. Availability and changes

We work to keep LocalPage available and your data safe, but we cannot promise the service will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features; if we remove something important you pay for, we will tell you in advance.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or a consumer’s statutory rights. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost clients, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that period.

14. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time by cancelling your plan and asking us to delete it. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. After closing, we delete your data as described in the privacy policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we will email you at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using LocalPage after that, the new terms apply.

16. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Disputes go to the courts of Latvia, unless you are a consumer and the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim at home. EU consumers can also use the EU online dispute resolution platform.
